It is an absolute privilege to be the Headteacher of the newly amalgamated school, Ysgol Awel-y-Môr. I have been Headteacher of the Junior school here in Kinmel Bay for over thirteen years now and absolutely love every minute of working in such a vibrant and exciting local community! I enjoy getting to know the children and families to ensure they are getting exactly what they need from school life and it will be so lovely to now be able see the journey right through from their starting point as they step into our Nursery class on their very first day!

Wellbeing and happiness comes first in our school community and the school name carries this Vision forward perfectly! Named by the children, ‘Awel-y-Môr’ translates as ‘sea breeze’ or ‘breeze from the sea’ and mirrors the calm and happy ethos that we will strive to achieve here. The whole-staff team work together to support this Vision and ethos. Happy children learn better and progress effectively against their own individual starting point as they move through the school on their learning journey.
